In which Tim prepares for departure.

All my bags are packed, and I'm ready to go. Here is the photographic evidence:

The process of packing my entire life into two checked bags (combined weight of no more than eighty pounds, and combined dimensions of no more than 107 inches) and one carry on has been interesting and a little difficult. At the end one has to make tough decisions about what to leave in, and what gets cut. I mean, how am I supposed to know if I will be better served by taking an extra shirt instead of that favorite book? The answer is that I can't really know. Packing for an experience like this will always be guess work.
